India: In December 2014 we travelled by train from Delhi to Ranthambhore to view wild tigers, leopards & birds. The Somadi in the heart of India was peaceful and in the small village of Mehrabad we were introduced to Meher Baba. Dusting ourselves of in the Psy-Trance beaches of Goa.

Title: Our story
The above video features scenes taken from an animation produced for a young couples wedding day. I have cut and edited the animated scenes from a larger piece which included photo montages and music. The animation tells the story of a young couples life together following them through early childhood memories, how they met and up to the proposal. We present the story in an amusing and original way characterising both of them in 2D form. The animation was presented to their guests on their wedding day.

Title: Dirty Filthy Archie
Dirty Filthy Archie is a children’s book about a filthy boy and his best friend Barry, a squeaky clean bath tub who wants Archie to change. Created by Doug Bray.
I first met Doug while working on a farm in rural Victoria, we began making a pilot episode for his script ‘Glass half empty’, several months later Doug called me up and gave me the rundown on his next project, ‘Dirty Filthy Archie’ a children’s book.
The story follows two characters, Archie and his squeaky clean bathtub friend… Barry.
A small print run is expected to be out in Victoria by mid 2016.

Title: Clock yourself
Myself and Meggen, director at Brisbane based client Next Step Physio, worked together in early 2016 before the launch of her smartphone app ‘Clock Yourself’.
Clock Yourself is a smart phone app designed by a neurological physiotherapist to train faster reaction-time and psychomotor speed. It guides the user to perform complex motor patterns with the upper and lower body simultaneously.
Together with Meggen and other mobile developers I worked on the front end design of the mobile app producing a series of character animations. The animations were direct representations of the exercises the users are to follow.

Title: Google edge animation
Google Edge
Animation short to support the launch of the Google app “Edge”. This video was produced alongside Whisper Audio Studios and was part of a wider presentation presented to the English Football Association.
I was contacted from Simon at Whisper Audio and asked to help their team of designers to produce several animated scenes to accompany the video. Facing a very tight deadline we turned the project in within 48 hours.

Title: Motion graphics, Character design, Animation, Rigging, and Background design for EPA
I approached Hani at EPA group over a posted job requesting artwork for an online podcast. What started as purely ‘business’ soon became a close working relationship which has seen us develop exciting new projects outside of the workplace. During the EPA group contract we developed motion graphics, artwork and product design as part of the rebrand of the EPA group website.

Client: The Challenge
Title: logo design, motion graphics and animation short.
I worked closely with Craig and Ryan on their start up, ‘The Challenge’. We approached this project with a clear vision and over a period of creative discussion we developed a logo and animated short to propel The Challenge into its first season of running. The Challenge is a boxing event which encourages people to attend a 10 week fitness programme preparing them for a stadium match up in the ring.

Title: I’m Just Sayin’, “With Tara Lynn Phillips!”
An animated intro for Tara Phillips’ YouTube channel. The cartoon is to promote and introduce her online show “I’m Just Sayin’. Tara recorded the sound and her vocals for me to lip sync.
This project took just over two weeks with several stages of character development and two revisions of the animation.

Above is a cut from several projects I have recently been working on, the included scenes use kinetic typography, an option for any animation and one that could bring that little bit extra to your project. Choosing to use kinetic typography alongside any other animation styles can enhance and bring more dynamism to your project, using these methods bring extra stimuli especially when accompanied by narration and can enhance your message conveying it in a clearer way.

Title: Background artwork illustrations
Here are some example art pieces from projects I have been involved in. I use digital methods when designing these art pieces, rendering the final designs through Photoshop which is very useful as when it comes to using these designs in animated projects it gives us the option to prepare them as functioning compositions.
Most of the background designs I have on display here would have been produced in a reasonable time, my process is to provide outline drafts for the purpose of any revisions before finalising the image in colour.
